Luke had a tiny break from the grind, so we took a Saturday to have a little staycation, which we all loved! Too bad he's now back to working crazy hours and getting home between 1am and 4am. Poor guy. Hopefully they finally meet that seemingly unattainable deadline soon. Anyway, on to happier times.
After cleaning the church in the morning, we headed down south 1 1/2 hrs to Pine Mountain, GA.
Wild Animal Safari is a really neat place, where we rode through on this old school bus painted with zebra stripes and the windows knocked out. People also drove through in cars (not recommended!), but we did that when we were out for Luke's internship and ended up with horns scratching the sides. Animals came up to the bus and we were able to hand feed them out the windows.
Abby loved throwing the food and looking at all the different animals.
Our favorite were the Giraffes! (They weren't there last time). They leaned down and stuck their big heads right in the windows. I got one to eat right off the palm of my hand.
Abby also got her 1st corn dog, which was cute to watch her eat.
Then we headed to Callaway Gardens resort. Luke took Abby in the Butterfly Enclosure while I sat in the car with a sleeping Bradley.
Then, off to the Beach! The highlight of the day was sitting in the sand while the kids played peacefully. It was the happiest moment we've had in a loooonnnnggg time!
They both loved the water. Abby is getting to be quite a good swimmer. Bradley loves splashing and watching Abby play with Daddy.
We fully plan to visit the beach there again this summer.

Looks like a blast! I'm bummed we never made it down there.
That looks so FUN! The beach and exotic animals, what a great time for the kids. Sorry your husband has crazy hours, that must be hard to take care of everything on your own, and not have him around. You are amazing!
