During my 2nd trimester, I was in project mode.
We had absolutely no furniture in our bedroom (still no bed, just mattress and box spring on the floor). I bought this dresser for $20 from a garage sale, delivered. It is an old antique one from the lady's great-great grandmother. The wood was in pretty bad condition, so I repainted it (with a mask on, in the garage with the door open). It took a long time, between the primer, 3 paint layers, and top coat. I really like having a dresser.
A couple days after I bought the dresser, the neighbors across the street put this side table out at the curb. I felt funny grabbing it, but ran quickly back home with it. It was all scribbled on from their daughter and she had inscribed her name in the top with deep pencil grooves. So, I sanded it down and re-painted it, too.
I had not liked the fabric on this rocker since the day it arrived, but it was too close to Abby's due date to do anything about it. 4 years later, it was coming apart at the seams, stains would not come out of it, and the pockets were torn half off. I had found this fabric a long time ago on clearance in the scrap isle of a fabric store. It ended up being a longer project than I expected, trying to get the covers on right! But, I am very happy with the results and now don't feel like I need to replace the whole chair.
I had planned on making Brad this blanket for his 1st birthday, and here it was a year later and I had yet to do anything about it. I had most of the fabric, but just hadn't found enough to make it how I wanted. Once I finally had all I needed, I got started. I loved using the silky binding- it's really easy.
Brad loves his special ball blanket.
I took a piece somewhere to get his name embroidered, since Abby's had that on it.
Of course, Abby wanted a picture with her blanket, too. I made it for her before she was born. A friend embroidered her name on the corner for me.
Brad's hooded towel was falling apart, since I didn't follow any instructions and tried to just figure it out. So, I found a really good tutorial online and made him 2 new ones.
The pillow toward the back is what is under the polka dot slip covers in the front. Luke likes the old pillows, but I think they're awful. I love the new covers I made (also from scrap fabric in a fabric store) and they match the carpet and accessories in the room.

Wow, you were busy! Super crafty... I'm impressed!
Angie, seriously you are amazing! I was not that productive my 2nd trimester and I didn't even have other kids!
