We got our kids the best present they could ever hope for, a puppy. My present was to get the exact kind of small, low-shedding puppy I wanted. She started our a tiny 4 lbs and will get to about 13 lbs. The poor thing gets more love than she wants from the kids, but she is so sweet about it and just endures them. She really does love them, too. She thinks they are her siblings.
We did not tell the kids we were getting a puppy, mostly in case this internet deal was a scam and we showed up to a weird puppy or no puppy. So, we headed home from the cave trip and stopped an hour south at a farm where we bought Daisy. The kids walked in to the little room where she was and started petting the puppy. Then we told them that we were taking her home. Brad was immediately happy to do so, but Abby was skeptical. Once they got outside with her, they were very happy and excited.
That's her all ready for her 4 hour trip home, where she threw up in her carrier a couple times, poor thing. And that's Nathan crying because he wants to hold her.
